Wednesday, April 12, 2017, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Village Design (600 Breakers Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304)
One of Fort Lauderdale Beach’s most popular tourist and local staycation destinations, North Beach Village Resort, is opening the dialogue on climate change. On the heels of the Resort’s new exhibit “Botanizing North Beach Village,” in partnership with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) School of Architecture and the City of Fort Lauderdale, North Beach Village Resort will host a reception and public discussion.
The “Botanizing North Beach Village” exhibit features two visioning projects created by architecture students at Florida Atlantic University, the University of Southern California and the University of Kansas. Through this exhibit the students have reimagined North Beach Village with new streetscapes and architecture that could enhance flood resilience while promoting better urbanism and greater walkability.
Following the presentation, the students will be on-hand to answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided, and complimentary parking will be available at the lot located on the corner of Terramar Street and Antioch Avenue.
This event is free to attend.
Please RSVP by Friday, April 7, 2017, to firstname.lastname@example.org or (754) 229-3991.
